  • Today is a long long macro look at Bitcoin, we will cover some current things though
  • What is a “generational starship” in science fiction historically
  • What would we do on a generational star ship
    • You are not going to step foot on the “new world” so it is your home
    • You did it not just for yourself but because you cared about future generations
    • Yet you have a life to live, things to do, a need for joy, friendship, etc.
    • On the ship we would need to
      • Grow food
      • Engineer the next generation of tech
      • Maintain what we have
      • Care for an educate children
      • Career train young adults
      • Ensure navigation
      • Look out for threats
      • Have an economy (employment, businesses & entrepreneurship)
      • Have recreation
      • Give up a lot without giving up everything
      • Maintain a thirst for liberty in a very regimented society
  • Seeing some current events, issues via this lens
    • The ETFs are coming if not this round, soon
    • The halving is coming, not may be, this is math
    • The cycle is repeating again, ETF or not, FUD or not, regulations or not
    • Things like ETFs must happen if Bitcoin is really seen as what it is, hard money
    • Lightning and other tech will continue to evolve, we must continue to evolve
    • Attacks will come, they always have, but the shields only get stronger
    • Volatility and cost of transactions are features not bugs
    • You are not late, you are not even early, the ship isn’t even built yet in our analogy
  • You can cry or you can buy, but it isn’t “going to zero”, even JP Morgan is bending the knee
  • As hardened Bitcoiners we must stop crying as a group, if it is what we keep saying it is, we are golden
  • People will “spend bitcoin” when it is either all they earn or value is sufficient to part with it, this is key to everything
  • It is all about time preference shifting
